On May 24, 2025, the final of the 6th Jiangsu Province College Student Biomedical Engineering Innovation Design Competition was held at the Changzhou Xinghe Renaissance Hotel. The competition was jointly hosted by the Jiangsu Society of Biomedical Engineering and Southeast University, and organized by Nanjing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics, the Education and Popular Science Committee of the Jiangsu Society of Biomedical Engineering, Changzhou West Taihu Science and Technology Industrial Park Management Committee, Talent Office of Wujin District CPC Committee of Changzhou, and the Science and Technology Association of Wujin District of Changzhou. It was co-organized by the School of Automation of Nanjing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics, the National Experimental Teaching Demonstration Center of Biomedical Engineering (Southeast University), the Hong Kong-Macao-University Cooperation Alliance, the Communist Youth League Committee of Changzhou, the Medical Device Industry Association of Wujin District, the Medical Biophotonics Committee of the Jiangsu Society of Biomedical Engineering, and Nanjing Jusha Medical Technology Co., Ltd.
With the theme of national health, the competition adhered to the guiding principles of “applying what is learned, integrating industry and education, and promoting learning through competition,” combining professionalism, scientificity, practicality, advancement, and fun. It mainly included theoretical research, solution design, technical implementation, and result presentation, requiring students to work in teams to experience the entire process of an engineering R&D project from design to realization. Through the competition, students could fully engage with advanced industry technologies, understand development trends, strengthen theoretical knowledge, enhance practical skills, stimulate innovative thinking, cultivate research interest and teamwork spirit, and lay a solid foundation for becoming outstanding engineers in the industry.
A total of 298 teams from 24 universities registered for the provincial competition. After preliminary reviews, 79 teams advanced to the finals to compete for special, first, and second prizes, while 53 teams were awarded third prizes.

HAI Lab of Southeast University won 2 awards in this competition: “Resonant Echo: A Speech Conversion System for Dysarthria Based on an ASR-LLM-TTS Three-Stage Cascade Architecture” won the first prize; “Smart Foot: An Intelligent Foot Data Analysis and Monitoring System Based on Nine-Axis Inertial Sensing” won the third prize.
